Chasing Mercy for Gaza

I'm getting ready to run an ultra marathon. That's going to be hundreds of training miles and 50 race-day miles.
Why would I do that? Aside from my loony love of running, I have a burden for those who are forced to run for their lives through no choice of their own.
As I take each step, I invite you to do a couple of things:
-
Pray for justice and peace in the Middle East. Men, women, and children are suffering in ways that are creating generational trauma.
-
Give to the vital work of justice and peace today.
-
Follow along on race day.

The Course
My body is running this course.

My heart and mind are running in Gaza.

My Virtual Course
Gaza is 25 miles from end to end. My virtual run will start at the Eretz crossing in the north, proceed to the Rafah crossing in the south, and then back to the Eretz crossing for a total of 50 miles.
For Those Running for their Lives
90% of Gazan's (nearly 2 million people) have been displaced. The vast majority of these have been displaced 5, 10, or 15 times. They have been forced to move again and again and again. Israel is blocking food from entering, so Gazan's are starving as they are dragging themselves by the hundreds of thousands from place to place.

Where is Jesus?
Jesus chose to spend his time with the homeless, the hungry, the oppressed. With this run, I am trying to run to where Jesus is. Today, Jesus is with each Gazan as they search desperately for water, food, and respite from the bombs. Jesus is with Rana's family.
